Description

Bacteriostatic water (BWI) is sterile water for injection containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a preservative. The benzyl alcohol component inhibits microbial growth in the vial after reconstitution, allowing multi-dose use over days or weeks — unlike sterile water for injection, which must be used within 24 hours of opening. It is the standard and recommended diluent for peptide reconstitution.

Proper reconstitution technique preserves peptide activity: inject bacteriostatic water gently down the inside wall of the vial (never directly onto the lyophilized powder cake), swirl gently, never shake. Use the correct volume for your target concentration — most peptide protocols specify concentration in mcg/mL, which determines how many units on your insulin syringe correspond to your target dose.

Use with: All OVA injectable vials. Calculate your reconstitution volume based on vial mass and desired concentration. For example: 5mg peptide + 2.5mL BWI = 2000mcg/mL concentration = 200mcg per 0.1mL (10 units on a 100-unit insulin syringe).

Storage: Store at room temperature before opening. After first use, store at 2–8°C and use within 28 days. Single-use after contamination — if cloudiness or particulates appear, discard.
