Description
Nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT) is an enzyme expressed primarily in adipose tissue that diverts SAM (S-adenosylmethionine) and NAD+ precursors away from energy metabolism. When NNMT is overactive — which happens with aging, obesity, and hormonal dysregulation — fat cells shift into a storage-dominant, low-energy state. 5-Amino-1MQ is a small molecule NNMT inhibitor that blocks this enzyme, redirecting SAM and NAD+ precursors back into metabolic pathways. The result is a reversal of the adipose cell’s energy phenotype: from storage mode to oxidation mode.
In animal models, NNMT inhibition with compounds in the 5-Amino-1MQ class produces significant reductions in fat mass without changes to food intake — a direct metabolic effect, not appetite suppression. For women, this mechanism is particularly relevant because NNMT expression in adipose tissue increases with estrogen decline — meaning the metabolic “brakes” that 5-Amino-1MQ releases are literally being applied more forcefully as female hormones shift. It stacks naturally with GLP-1/GIP agonists and growth hormone secretagogues for compounding metabolic effects.
Female-calibrated dosing: 50–100mg orally or 1–2mg injectable, daily or 5x/week. Cycle for 8–12 weeks, followed by 4-week break. Best taken with food. Pairs well with NAD+ precursors to maximize the redirected metabolic pathway activity.
Storage: Store lyophilized powder below -20°C. After reconstitution, refrigerate at 2–8°C and use within 30 days.
